End of Year Gratitude: Celebrating a Year of Mushroom Hunting and Mycology

I can't believe it's already 2023 - time really does fly when you're having fun (or, in my case, obsessing over mushrooms). As we wrap up another year, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on this Substack's journey and express my gratitude for all of your support.

When I first started this newsletter, I have to admit that I was a bit hesitant. But I felt strongly about sharing my love for these incredible organisms and wanted to create a community where others could learn, share, and connect.

Some of my favorite finds of 2022. 1. Termitomyces fuliginosus, 2. Lentaria sp., 3. Cookeina tricholoma, 4. Trichaleurina javanica, 5. Erythrophylloporus sp., 6. Pisolithus aurantioscabrosus, 7. Crocinoboletus sp., 8. Gerronema indigoticum, 9. Hygrocybe sp.

I set a goal of posting two newsletters a month and reaching 100 subscribers by the end of the year. I'm thrilled to announce that that milestone was achieved (today!), and I am truly grateful to each and every one of you for following.

I can't wait to see what the next year brings. For 2023, I aim to post more video content (virtual forays), and more frequently. I hope you'll continue to join me on this journey of mushroom discovery and mycological exploration.

Happy holidays and here's to a new year filled with even more fungi-filled finds!

Best,

Joseph Pallante
