Exactly a year ago today, I was in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Like a lot of my images these days, I get anniversary photo montage roundups, and they're mostly of mushrooms that tether me to a place in time. This reminder prompted me to make this post.
Here are some of the species I found at Mae Sa Waterfalls. And while I’ve tried to label genera/species names, some I am still not sure of, but I aim to update this post periodically.

NOTE: I am currently in Nha Trang, Vietnam, for the next month and plan to revisit Ba Ho Waterfalls. I plan to share some of my finds in two parts - with species spotted back in November, so stay tuned.
Absolutely incredible video Joseph!! Going to be watching a lot more of them from now on. Thank you so much for educating us with your incredible fungi photography and articles!
Very cool! I'm always amazed at how much diversity exists at our feet! Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful! I looked to see how far away you were from Hatvala and their fantastic tea, but it's a 6 hour drive from Nha Trang. To be fair, I don't actually go there to get the tea... Driving from the UK to Vietnam would be a stretch! 😆
Those are gems! Especially Marasmius, Mycena and Tetrapygros!
Oh wow! What an incredible place! (In the video) So many stunning fungi! When I have a chance I’ll have a peek at some of the related posts. So cool. Thanks so much.
Thanks Beth! My fav were the tiny red ones that reminded me of matchsticks :) I'm looking forward to going back next year - this time with a new goal as my friend just informed me today there are truffles in the region: https://www.nationthailand.com/blogs/life/food/40039058
