Joseph, your newsletter is amazing! Such wonderful trips. Your photographs are great,. And of course there are those exquisite mushrooms. I love Panellus sp. especially, but they're all wonderful!
Thanks Michael! Panellus are always fun to find! I only know of 4 species that glow. Strangely enough there are 2 that have pores (instead of gills) - P. luxfilamentus and P. luminescens.
But the gilled ones are fickle - P. stipticus only glows in the Eastern part of the US (that I know of).
Early settlers/colonists believed them to be supernatural fairy-lights that would lead you to your doom if you followed them 😱
